NEW STEEZ™ BASS GEAR FROM DAIWA IS THE WORLD'S LIGHTEST

New from Daiwa is a complete, state-of-the-art system of spinning and baitcasting reels, rods and matching fluorocarbon line, all under the Steez™ logo.

Steez baitcasting reels (weighing in at just 5.5 ounces) and spinning reels (starting at 6.9 ounces) are said to be the lightest reels of their kind, thanks to components of Magnesium, Titanium and super lightweight composites. All carry Daiwa's latest advances in line management for superior casting and fewer line snarls and tangles.

Matching Steez rods use Daiwa's exclusive SVF graphite technology, combining maximum graphite volume with precise resin control. The resulting blank is incredibly lightweight, with maximum sensitivity and power. To ensure each rod does its task to perfection, blank actions are fine-tuned to perfection, combining multiple pattern cuts of the graphite material into each. To keep weight at an absolute minimum, exclusive Air-Beam™ reel seats offer race car style design with all excess material removed from the core. A machined aluminum fore-nut eliminates the traditional, seldom-used fore-grip to lock the reel securely and reduce weight. Even the grips have been specially designed, featuring an extremely lightweight yet solid feeling Air-Foam™ material that's noticeably lighter than cork or ordinary EVA foam.

So why all this attention to lighter weight? One primary reason is less fatigue for an angler casting thousands of times a day during tournaments. Another important factor is sensitivity. The lighter rod has less inertia to resist movement, reduce transmission of vibration and otherwise deaden the feel of a fish's pickup. All things being equal, the lighter rod wins the sensitivity battle.

Topping it all off is the addition of Steez Fluorocarbon line. Ultra tough, it's a green- colored, super soft, super strong 100 percent Fluorocarbon line offering the flexibility and castability of monofilament. Formulated for Steez spinning and casting reels, Steez Fluorocarbon line is highly resistant to abrasion and offers a faster sink rate than monofilament.
